Another year has passed and we still have lots to celebrate with the Health&Hustle. We are now in our sixth year of existence and still going strong with the membership. Most groups did not survive the pandemic, but we managed to grow proving the use of technology has a place to play with isolation and loneliness. Now we can meet up again, our couch to 30-minute programme has been very popular and we have celebrated lots of successes with in the programme.
There are so many highlights to talk about, but also a lot to look forward to with future events that members are taking part in following the graduation from the couch programme. Does activity make a difference? Yes! Just asked any of the members who take part in our activities and events. We are pleased to say we have expanded the group which has been dominated by FITBIT to also use Strava, where apple and garmin users can join the Strava group and we also use HeyLo to schedule all our events. The partnership with Healthy Lifestyles and Active Gloucestershire are still as strong as the days we started to connect and we are also grateful to Gloucester Sports for all their support and producing our activity clothing line. What’s next? We have a running leadership programme to roll out for run leaders to promote our running programmes and of course we still continue to roll out the team Fitbit challenges.
To help us reach seven years, please promote what we do and encourage NHS staff to think about the benefits activity can bring to both physical and mental health wellbeing.
