Worcester 10km Review — A Tough Course, A Strong Team, A Rain‑Free Finish

Hosted by Tempo | Sunday Morning Challenge

The Worcester 10km delivered everything you would expect from a Tempo event organisation, atmosphere, and a course that doesn’t give you a single kilometre for free.

For Team H8H2026, the day began with a very early 6.30am start to secure parking, thanks to the limited spaces around Sixways. Once we found the Event HQ beside the Worcester Warriors ground, race numbers were collected and we suddenly had a couple of hours to fill. The calm before the storm.

When the race finally got underway, the course revealed its true character quickly. The long, narrow single‑track stretch along the Worcester canal was scenic but unforgiving. With barely any room to overtake, it became a test of patience as much as endurance, legs working hard, pace dictated by the pack, and every stride demanding focus.

Coming off the canal and back onto the roads, the challenge only intensified. The final 5km delivered a series of uphill sections that felt relentless. Each incline chipped away at the legs, and by the time the downhill finish arrived, the body was grateful but absolutely feeling the effort.

Despite the toughness of the route, the team delivered an incredible performance. All of us finished within a minute of each other, a testament to consistent pacing, strong training, and sheer determination. The kilometre splits tell the full story of a course that never let up.

And the best victory of the day? beating the rain. The skies held off just long enough for Team H8H2026 to cross the line, collect ourselves, collect our medals and celebrate a hard‑earned finish. A brilliant effort all round. A tough course conquered. A team that showed up and delivered.
