Running is for anyone who wants to do it. It's not about speed or distances, just being outside and enjoying the time. Why not join others who have started running with the Couch to 5k programme “just because you don't doesn't mean you can't”. We have a mixture of people taking part, some prefer to run in the group and others go alone using the app but still keep in touch using our WhatsApp group. We have NHS staff, patients and friends from other sectors, we are inclusive and welcome anyone who wants to take on the challenge.
BBC Sport and Public Health England's Couch to 5k smartphone app will get you confidently running 30 minutes non stop in just nine weeks, or if you need to take longer, you can repeat sessions until you feel comfortable to continue. Couch to 5k builds you up with time and effort, so you'll always be impressed with what you can achieve.
We have even seen members of our group hit Week5 of the course and attempt a park run. Nothing is impossible when you put your mind to it. Our coaching techniques are simple and we spend time supporting everyone to achieve their goals. We are currently progressing through week6 of the course and plan to run the next course in November.
