Monmouth Parkrun Review — Health & Hustle Robin Trust 1000km Challenge

The Health & Hustle team made the road trip to Monmouth parkrun this weekend as part of the ongoing Robin Trust 1000km challenge, and what a morning it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was nothing short of outstanding. The volunteers, the heartbeat of the Monmouth parkrun was warm, organised, and clearly passionate about creating a brilliant experience for every participant taking part. It’s easy to see why Monmouth has such a strong reputation. The organisation behind the scenes is seamless, and the atmosphere on the course reflects a community that genuinely cares about bringing people together through movement.

This visit came about after a chance meeting between members at Mallards Pike parkrun a couple of weeks ago. A small spark of conversation quickly turned into a plan, and before long, Team Health & Hustle were lining up at Monmouth. It’ is a perfect example of how active communities can connect, collaborate, and strengthen relationships across borders and counties, all through the simple act of showing up.

Community Momentum & The 1000km Challenge

Alongside parkrun adventures, our wider Health & Hustle community continues to thrive. The 1000km challenge is in full swing, walk, jog, run, or mix it up, every step counts. Members are embracing it with enthusiasm, and the impact on fitness levels is becoming more visible each week. Since we started on the 6th June both Jude and Kevin have completed the task, however the challenge is not a race but you can use it chase a personal goal. We are also keeping momentum with Marathon training, the Couch to 5km course and the midweek interval sessions. The consistency is paying off. Confidence is growing, friendships are strengthening, and the community energy is unmistakable.

Run Camp is on the Horizon

We are now only a couple of weeks away from
Run Camp in Teguise, Lanzarote, flying out on 30 September for seven days of sunshine, structured training, recovery, and team bonding. Before we fly out, we have got the Cheltenham 10km and a community quiz night for the Robin Trust to set the tone for those attending the camp.
Once we return, we will head straight into our final event of the year: the Stroud 10km, before shifting gears into the winter programme and building towards an exciting 2027.
Monmouth parkrun reminded us why these Saturday morning gatherings matter. They are more than timed 5ks, they are catalysts for connection, confidence, and community spirit. Team Health & Hustle left feeling inspired, welcomed, and eager to return in the future. Thank you Monmouth!
