Team H*H2026 Gloucester 10k Review

Team H8H2026 delivered a standout performance at the Gloucester 10k, rounding off what had been an exceptionally tough week of training in challenging weather conditions and record‑breaking heatwaves. After days of battling intense temperatures, the team finally caught a break: cool air, cloud cover, and even a welcome burst of rain at the start line — a refreshing change that lifted spirits and sharpened focus.

As the drizzle settled in, the team gathered with a clear strategy. For those tackling their first ever 10k, we set a confident pacing plan: 8‑minute kilometres, aiming for a finish around 1 hour 20 minutes. The execution was superb. The group held their rhythm, stayed disciplined, and crossed the line in 1 hour 19 minutes, a brilliant achievement and a testament to teamwork, pacing, and grit.

Other team members ran their own races, pushing for personal bests and delivering impressive times across the board. The mix of first‑timers and experienced runners created a supportive, energising dynamic that carried everyone through the course.

One of the highlights of the event was meeting fellow runners from across the Gloucestershire health community. The field included colleagues from nursing, radiology, AHPs, and mental health services, a powerful reminder of how running brings people together across roles, departments, and backgrounds. What united everyone was a shared passion for movement, wellbeing, and the joy of crossing a finish line after giving it your all.

Team H8H2026 showed resilience, camaraderie, and genuine enthusiasm from start to finish. After a week of difficult conditions, they rose to the challenge, supported one another, and delivered a performance to be proud of. This run wasn’t just about kilometres, it was about community, connection, and celebrating what we can achieve together.
