Health&Hustle 5 Years on……

When we launched the Health&Hustle in 2016 I had no idea how sustainable this venture would be.  Forward 5 years and we have over 750 NHS staff and patients registered in the initiative with 20 teams taking part in the monthly and weekly challenges.  Along with this achievement we have also witnessed some exceptional lifestyle changes and since the pandemic started, we have seen the hustle playing a part in mental and physical health well being, when sports stopped the hustle kept going.  Using our social media and  health solutions platforms, we managed to provide services throughout Covid, which is an achievement in its own rights.  With the lifting of restrictions, It has been great to start up our popular couch to 5km programme and this year we joined forces with walkrunwalk to provide a safe place for everyone to talk about their challenges and support each other.  We have seen a strong bond grow within the Couch to 5km crew along with their achievements each week.  In terms of what we have achieved this year with challenges, members of the hustle have taken part in the Hope for Tomorrow’s 1000 mile challenge raising funds and completing the challenge within a year.  December saw some of the team take part in the December daily dash completing 5km everyday for 31 days raising money for Sue Ryder.  The success of the hustle has seen a number of publications launched through Bob Health sharing our experiences with the wider NHS and to date we have seen two new NHS teams join the hustle, taking an active part in the challenges.  Here’s to another year in our history and thanks to everyone who has been part of the Health&Hustle.
