‘Moderate and vigorous activity can be differentiated by the ‘talk test’: being able to talk but not sing indicates moderate intensity activity, while having difficulty talking without pausing is a sign of vigorous activity.’
Cardiovascular activity, (aerobic activity) increases breathing rate and makes the heart and muscles work harder. It can be of low, moderate or vigorous intensity and is relative to an individual’s fitness. Therefore, what could be light intensity for one person (who is very fit and active) could be moderate or vigorous intensity for someone else (who is less active and fit)
I have produced a guide with examples of some key and typical activities that could be undertaken during this challenge and how they could be categorised. Remember it will to a certain extent depend on your own level of fitness so please be honest when logging your sessions and if in doubt use the ‘talk test’ referred to above.
