What activity have you completed during the 2nd lockdown?

Thats week one done and three weeks to go, so what has everyone been up to?

If you are part of the WhatsApp groups you will see some incredible achievements.  The Hope for Tomorrow challenge has launched a Fox and Hound challenge in a bid to raise further funds for the charity.  Do you know we have a couple who are becoming famous in Gloucestershire and inspiring the youngest members of the challenge to get active.  Rob and Margaret have raised a significant amount of money handing out cards encouraging people to donate on their daily walks.  Margaret has celebrated her 80th birthday and since July has covered 500 miles, maybe we have our equivalent to Captain Tom.  Keep checking out the H4T news for more updates about this amazing couple.  From bumping into a piper on the cliff Julie from InStep is really getting into the challenge and showcasing some of the scenery down in Eastbourne.

November is a key month for remembrance and a few of the members of the Health&Hustle have entered the poppy and Tommy10k challenges, raising funds for the RBL.  Jane Cantwell, Louise Walters and Helen Garwood have been on that journey.  Helen only graduated last week from the C25k programme and has used the programme to complete her Tommy5k run.  Since finishing the couch to 5km, members are still out running under lockdown which is brilliant.

What’s coming up with the Health&Hustle? On the 18 November we will be presenting transforming workforce’s with Fitbit health solutions at the HPN virtual event Along with the normal weekly and monthly challenges a few of us will be running the December Dailydash for Sue Ryder throughout December.  Following further meetings with Wye and Valley NHS Trust and the Business Service Authority, I am pleased to say we will have more NHS staff from outside Gloucestershire joining the Hustle.

Do you have what it takes to be a change maker? We are still building our change makers programme and if you want to join please get in touch.  Why? The success of the hustle needs passionate individuals to drive the change and support staff with activity.  By creating the change makers we will continue to grow the Health&Hustle into the future.

Looking forward we are planning to hold our Christmas fun run following lockdown and more details will follow once we know what the government guidelines are.  Remember to keep active and look after yourself and those around you that may not be coping with the restrictions.  Stay safe, keep stepping and keep hustling.
