What is the Health&Hustle all about?

Health & Hustle has been set up for organisational groups to support staff becoming active and healthy recognising that one-size does not fit all. Team H8H have created an environment for promoting healthy lifestyles through taking up activities, by encouraging and supporting each other to achieve active goals.  The group encompasses everyone who wants to be part of the activity and celebrates personal achievements no matter how small the achievements are.  Walking, running or regularly moving around clinical areas or offices will help towards achieving the recommended step count of 10,000 steps a day, but it is up to the individual to set their personal goals.

What are the benefits of joining the Health & Hustle?

Team H8H have set up activities to give staff the opportunity at work to create their own active community to support each over in achieving personal active goals.  Members of the group/team can take part in the work week hustle challenges or join in with organised walks or running groups.  The cost to take part in most activities are free, however the benefits in the long term are priceless.

Who can take part in the Health & Hustle?

The Health & Hustle has been set up for Health and Social Care organisations and is open to staff and patient groups, however due to the success of the hustle we are expanding across Gloucestershire and beyond with other partners and providers.

What do I need and how can I join the Health & Hustle?

You will need a Fitbit, if you do not have one then staff can use our discount scheme set up for NHS staff to order using their NHS work mail accounts to qualify for discount.
Once you have or purchased and set up your Fitbit with a personal account, you will need to send your fitbit registered mail address to the Health&Hustle   You will then receive an invite to your mail address inbox from NHS Gloucestershire Fitbit.  Follow the registration instructions and select your team from the team list. Once you have completed the registration process, check your Fitbit application on your mobile device or phone to join the NHS Gloucestershire challenges.

What are the rules in the Health & Hustle challenges?

“Simple”, team Health & Hustle will set up the challenges but you set the rules! It is up to you what you set as a personal goal and the group is there to support and provide you with a bit of competition if you want to take part, if not, go at your pace, 2 steps is better than 1 step so just try to improve with small goals to build up to future goals.  “It really does work”!
