Cheltenham Running Festival Highlights

Members from team H8H2023 took part in the first event of the year, running at the Cheltenham Running Festival.  The team was raising funds for the Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity, which will be passed through to the Oncology unit.  There is still plenty of opportunity to donate to the team Just Giving Page How was the run for the group? it was hot, very hot but the route was easy going, however due to the heat, we decided to take it very easy.  The goal was to get over the finish line in 40 minutes and the whole team managed to get in under and crossed the finish line with no casualties.  Some of the runners did find the course challenging and the medical crews did an outstanding job on those who didn't make it due to heat exhaustion.

To cover the occasion we have produced a video review, which is available on the YouTube channel or click here to watch.  You can see the sense of achievement from Leslie, Helen and Sarah, who now set their sites on the next event coming up at the end of Jun, with the Gloucester 10km.

Raising funds will make a difference for patients, loved ones and staff at the hospitals.  The care provided by the staff makes a big difference to lives seriously effected by serious illness such as Cancer, heart diseases or respiratory conditions for every age group. We have experienced NHS staff who have become patients, such as Sarah who talks about her experience in the video review from the event.

To everyone who has donated, thank you!
